Colombia, June 2026. – Following its recent stops in New York and Miami, the global fashion circuit driven by Inexmoda will make its next stop in Medellín. From July 25 to 31, Colombiamoda will celebrate its 37th edition with an agenda that reinforces the international dimension of the platform and features designer Manuela Álvarez leading the opening runway show. The programming will also include Montoc Cosmetics and Salon In by Recamier as the official makeup and styling brands, reflecting the convergence of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
Under the concept Uniqueness is the New Luxury, Colombia Fashion Week will bring together more than 70,000 attendees from 50 countries, as well as 17,000 specialized buyers, 4,000 of whom will be international. The 2026 edition highlights how Medellín has consolidated a model that transcends the traditional trade show format, projecting itself as a global fashion circuit built around design, creativity, business, culture, and entertainment.
“Global fashion is experiencing a moment where authenticity has become a new way of understanding value and luxury. Therefore, it holds a very special meaning for us to have Manuela Álvarez headlining the opening runway show of Colombiamoda 2026. At Inexmoda, we take immense pride in seeing how designers who have grown alongside the Colombian fashion system continue to elevate national talent on the global stage. Welcoming Manuela to Colombia Fashion Week to lead one of its most iconic moments, such as the opening show, demonstrates the power of stories built on identity and serves as a massive inspiration for new creative generations,” states Sebastián Díez, Executive President of Inexmoda.
Manuela Álvarez to Open Colombia Fashion Week
The opening of Colombiamoda 2026 will be led by Manuela Álvarez and MAZ, the brand that for over a decade has built an identity rooted in sustainability, traceable production, and collaboration with artisanal communities. The designer will present Oh My Heart, a collection inspired by the eponymous R.E.M. song and conceived as a sensory experience centered on vulnerability, fracture, and emotional expansion.
“Being chosen for the opening runway show of Colombiamoda is a profound honor for me and, at the same time, the manifestation of more than a decade of work building a different vision of fashion. It is a vision that conceives design as a tool for cultural expression, innovation, sustainability, and transformation. This moment is not just about MAZ. It speaks to an ecosystem that we have been building alongside artisans, communities, universities, businesses, and institutions like Inexmoda, which have believed in the possibility of expanding the boundaries of what Latin American fashion can be,” comments Manuela Álvarez.
The stage production will unfold across four chromatic acts—black, red, Klein blue, and white—accompanied by an original composition performed live by the Medellín Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras. The collection integrates nearly ten artisanal techniques developed alongside communities from different regions of the country, an approach that has defined the designer’s work since the start of her career.
“Oh My Heart celebrates that journey. It is a collection that blends craftsmanship, science, emotion, and modernity to continue imagining new ways of creating value from Colombia for the world. For me, it also represents an affirmation that the new Latin American luxury can be deeply human, culturally relevant, and emotionally meaningful,” she adds.
The selection of Manuela Álvarez coincides with one of the periods of highest international visibility in her career. In early 2026, she was selected among the 20 semifinalists for the LVMH Prize and has recently been highlighted by Vogue Mexico & Latin America as one of the voices embodying new interpretations of luxury in the region.
Beauty and Styling in the Spotlight at Colombia Fashion Week
The 2026 edition will mark the arrival of Montoc Cosmetics as the official makeup brand of Colombiamoda. The Colombian company, born in Medellín, will be responsible for developing the beauty concepts that will accompany the runway programming, backed by a team of over 40 professional makeup artists and a specialized backstage operation. Its participation reflects how beauty categories have taken on an increasingly prominent role within the creative narratives of fashion weeks. For this edition, the brand will focus on an aesthetic of luminous skin, natural finishes, and an approach that prioritizes individuality as part of the visual language of the collections.
Meanwhile, Salon In by Recamier will mark its third consecutive participation as the official styling sponsor. Created 25 years ago by Recamier—a Colombian company with over seven decades of experience in the beauty industry—the professional brand has consolidated an international presence in markets such as the United States, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico.
Its continued partnership with Colombiamoda highlights the close relationship between fashion and beauty, as well as the role of stylists as essential interpreters of the trends and stories that come to life on the runway. In this edition, the brand will host its most important launch of the year in Medellín with the comprehensive overhaul of its retail portfolio, introducing new formulas, imagery, and packaging for its lines of shampoos, conditioners, and treatments—products that professionals recommend to clients to maintain hair care at home. This showcase will also mark the year’s first major connection with consumers around this new rollout, within a setting that consolidates Colombiamoda as a platform for innovation and the strengthening of bonds between brands and their audiences.
“At Colombiamoda, we believe that beauty and styling are essential allies to amplify designers’ visions and enrich the stories that come to life on the runway. We are proud to feature Colombian brands like Montoc Cosmetics and Salon In by Recamier, whose value propositions reflect the creativity and capacity for innovation of our industry. Their participation not only elevates the experience of this edition but also allows that inspiration to transcend the trade show and integrate into people’s daily lives, understanding fashion as an expression of who we are and our lifestyle,” affirms Leonor Hoyos, Director of Trade Shows at Inexmoda.
An Edition Expanding with Greater International Reach
The expansion of Colombiamoda 2026 will also be reflected in the reach of its commercial connections. Ecuador, the United States, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Mexico will be among the countries with the highest representation of international buyers, while the United Arab Emirates, France, Puerto Rico, Chile, and the United Kingdom stand out as markets where new business opportunities are opening up for Colombian and Latin American value propositions. Regarding the participation of exhibiting brands, Colombia leads the lineup, followed by Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Spain—a sign of the growing interest from diverse markets to strengthen ties with the international fashion system.
As one of the main highlights of this edition, Colombiamoda 2026 will expand its calendar for the first time to establish itself as a full week of experiences. Under the concept of Opening Weekend, the programming will begin on Saturday, July 25, with the Colombiamoda Opening Show and will continue on Sunday, July 26, with the Colombiamoda Wellness Warm Up, leading up to the Opening Runway on Monday, July 27. The commercial exhibition will take place between July 28 and 30, and the trade show will conclude on Friday, July 31, with the Closing Show / Party—an expanded agenda that reflects the evolution of Colombia Fashion Week into a circuit integrating fashion, wellness, entertainment, and city experiences.
For seven days, Medellín will be the stage for runway shows, brand experiences, and spaces dedicated to knowledge, highlighting the Sustainability Route, the Circular Fashion Market, the Materials Library, the Knowledge Set, the Trends Forum, and the Green Talks. This programming reflects the evolution of Colombiamoda into an ecosystem that integrates creativity, innovation, and business opportunities.
In its 38th edition, Colombiamoda evolves to become a circuit of international influence, with the capacity to connect design, industry, and culture at a time when the region seeks to claim a more prominent role in global conversations about the future of fashion.
